Stoneware Match Strike

The match strike is an ingenious design that serves both to hold the matches and to light them. Ceramicist Julia Finlayson began collecting vintage examples and became enamored with the history, ritual and aesthetic of this classic tool. This version, like all her designs, is beautifully minimal and richly textured. Use with 3” strike anywhere matches (not included). Available in Stone, exclusively from Wms&Co and in Black. The hand-thrown ceramics from Grandmont Street are made by Julia Finlayson, who uses textural matte glazes over a dark clay stoneware base. Her designs are elegant, never fussy, streamlined yet warm.
