Populaire Vintage Moroccan Rug 4'x8' Black (Wool)

The History: The Azilal Berber Tribe produced this piece.  Azilal and Berber carpets are well known for their white natural wool primary colors (the "ground"), along with black or colorful designs for accents. The Artisan: This vintage rug was made by a woman of a Berber tribe in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Approximately 20-30 years old, this Moroccan carpet would have originally been made by a Berber woman for personal use in her own home. She created it with wool and small portions of cotton thread, and permitted herself personal freedom in expressing her own creativity and values through North African symbology and colors as she wove these designs. The Look: This small-sized rug is a masterpiece. The bright gray, pink, purple, red, blue, green, and orange diamond inserts on the black backdrop transform it into a focus point. It is perfect for minimalist rooms. This Moroccan rug would look great in a living room or office. This piece is one of a kind, and can be used as a rug or wall hanging.
