Dr. Alderete Diablo High-Top | XX
Jorge Alderete, aka Dr. Alderete, is a graphic artist, illustrator, author, designer, cultural manager, musician, and sometimes photographer. He was born in the Argentine Patagonia in 1971 and has lived in Mexico since 1998. He is co-founder of Vertigo Gallery. He plays the theremin and draws live with Sonido Gallo Negro. Since 2015 he has been a member of AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale). His work has been published in several specialized anthologies such as Illustration Now! and Latin American Graphic Design (Taschen) where they say: "Jorge Alderete is one of the most emblematic artists in Latin America." He is also a beneficiary of the National System of Creators of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts in Mexico (FONCA), 2018. His collaboration with Blanx celebrates multiculturalism: “Dr. Alderete designed this shoe through experimentation with norms and standards trying to convey that we are all unique in our own way and that fables, dreams and masks have always been, in all cultures, forms of revelation. This is why masks are embedded in the heart and are a source of teaching from the earliest ages. They are forms of disclosure rather than forms of appearance, of deception, of dissimulation, of pretense, of unreality, of what is not.” Connect with your own fable when wearing Alderete’s elegant and colorful collection.
