The Cushion cut combines a square cut with rounded corners, similar to a pillow (hence the name). Previously known as an “old mine cut”, this shape can be dated back to 1700s. Some now refer to this shape as an “old new classic”, as it resembles the iconic Round cut, but with a modern twist.
